Thanks for your help! When your dog stops barking, praise and reward him. Never shout when you want him to stop, this can cause anxiety and undermine any learning. Also, you can easily confuse your dog if he thinks you are barking too. Yelling only reinforces the barking habit.
As you leave, give the dog an “only-when-I’m-gone” chew toy with your scent imparted on it. This toy should be something spectacular – a sterilized beef bone stuffed deeply and thoroughly with canned dog food or cheese spread (served frozen or chilled), a flavorful beef-basted knotted rawhide bone, or a stuffed KongTM. Give it to the dog upon leaving; rub it between your palms several times before you go. Not only is this a diversion tactic, it actually makes being left alone not so bad, as this is the only time the “most-wonderful-thing-in-the-world” appears!
Your dog develops the habit of barking at passengers outside the house, bikers, or cars, mostly because something permanently reinforces her action. For example, when a biker passes by, your puppy starts barking. After a while, the biker disappears and she believes that this is the effect of her barking. She’s got what she wanted and she’ll continue doing it.

There are a variety of established methods of animals training, each with its adherents and critics. Some of the better known dog training procedures include the Koehler method, clicker training, motivational training, electronic training, model-rival training, dominance-based training, and relationship-based training. The common characteristics of successful methods are knowing the animal's attributes and personality, accurate timing of reinforcement and/or punishment and consistent communication. The use of punishment is controversial with both the humaneness and effectiveness questioned by many behaviourists.

To help encourage your puppy to stay in the crate whilst the door is open, stay close by and try using a Kong toy filled with soft puppy food or some other eating activity such as a pigs ear or bull chew. This creates a positive association with the crate, as the puppy realises that good things happen when I am in the crate. Once your puppy is choosing to go into the crate on their own accord without encouragement, you can begin to close the door but only for a few seconds at a time. Gradually build up the duration as long as your puppy is relaxed, remembering to continue using your Kong and chews whilst the puppy is in the crate and the door is closed.  Once your puppy is happily settled in the crate with their Kong or chew with the door closed, you can start to increase the distance between you and the crate. If the puppy begins to whine, decrease the distance and wait a few seconds until the puppy is quiet, then let it out. If the puppy whines or cries it is telling you that it not ready for that distance between you so you will need to take a few steps back to the distance where the puppy doesn’t react.Over time your puppy will be quite happy to go settle in the crate by its self, you can start to pair a cue each time your puppy goes into the crate such as “in your crate” or “go to bed”. This builds up an association between the cue and the action of walking into the crate.  Not all puppies adjust well to being confined so if you are having trouble getting your puppy to accept it, try an enclosed pen or baby gates to help puppy proof your home.

Snake Care Guide Place to stay When you were a kid in school, what helped you learn your spelling words and multiplication tables? Practice! Consistency is key to training your new puppy. He not only needs to keep practicing commands over and over with you, but he also needs you to be consistent with your approach. This means always reinforcing his training, even when you're tired or busy. For example, if you're cooking dinner and your dog is giving you the signal that he needs to go outside and relieve himself, turn off the oven and guide him outside immediately. Use the same command words when teaching him simple campaigns like “sit” or “stay” or “no.” This helps to reinforce that each word is associated with a specific command you wish him to take.

Reward system Most dogs quickly choose a small area, such as a corner of a room, in a dog bed, or on or under a couch, where they go to relax. If your puppy has just recently been adopted from the breeder, kennel or pet store, crate training should be relatively easy since your puppy is likely already accustomed to sleeping in a pen or crate.
If you’re going to leave him outside, the best thing would be to build a little run out of fence posts and wire mesh, or perhaps buy a ready made one. This way you could confine him with acceptable chew toys, a water supply and with ample room to roam and play but with nothing inside the run he could possibly get into trouble with.
Find a time when the kids aren’t around, the house is quiet and the other pets take a nap. Avoid distractions so the puppy has only YOU for attention. Call his name, get his attention, and go to him if need be to show him the treat or squeaky toy.

Defining Tasks Dogs also bark if they are anxious, so medications can be used in the short-term to help your dog learn some coping skills. They need not be permanent. While there are some excellent dog trainers, there is little regulation in the industry, so skills and methods can vary. Ask your veterinarian to recommend someone if they can’t help.

Collar Use reward-based training for self-rewarding behaviors. Reward-based training uses discipline to help the puppy understand when something is a bad choice. Any type of reaction can be a reward in the dog's mind, so often the advice is to completely ignore bad behavior. However, if your dog is exhibiting behavior that's self-rewarding (for example, the dog enjoys chewing shoes) then this doesn't really work. That being the case, a short but sweet guiding command is appropriate. When it exhibits behavior you don't like, simply say “Not that” or similar words in a disapproving voice. The aim is not to scold him, but to guide him.

A dog’s bark is its way of communicating: to you, to other dogs, and to other people. If you’re trying to keep your dog from ever barking, think again! Expecting a dog to never bark is as unreasonable as expecting a baby never to cry. However, you can largely eliminate “nuisance barking” by taking a few simple actions. Removing rewards for barking and training your dog to stop barking at your command will cut down on problem barking and enrich your relationship with your furry friend.
